GENERAL INFORMATION
The DIGIMAG-Series are electromagnetic insertion flovv sensors for use in
conductive liquids in pipe sizes 1" to 8" (25mm to 200 mm.) Lacking moving
parts, they are well suited for applications
which have particulates in the fluid and are therefore problematic for impellers
or turbines. Other advantages
are insensitivity to viscosity and tolerance for pulsating flovvs. This makes
them a good choice with fluids
with varying viscosity and with air-driven diaphragm pumps.Modularity.
Simplicity and modularity are at the core of the DIGIMAG design. The basic flovv
sensor has one output, which is pulse proportional to flovv rate.
Insertion Depth. Like all insertion flovv sensors, the DIGIMAG Series
extend into the pipe and measure the velocity of the fluid in a particular area
of the pipe. The chosen insertion depth is the “critical point”, or the area of
the flovv stream which maintains the average velocity across a wide range of flovv
rates. This is necessary because the shape of the velocity profile changes as
the rate increases. (It transitions from a “bullet” to more of a “plug” shape).

General Information
The DIGIPRO Series are impeller-type insertion meters designed for use in pipe
sizes 1/2" to 8". High-quality jewel bearings and nickel-bound tungsten carbide
shaft are used for maximum life and extreme low friction. Bodies are machined
from solid rod for maximum precision. Low-flovv performance is superior. The
rotation of the rotor is detected by a non-drag Hall-effect sensor. Output is a
pulse-type square wave, which can be sent long distances (up to 2,000 feet)
without a transmitter. This signal can be connected directly
to controls, as well as PLC’s, counters, and computer cards. DIGIPRO meters are
ideal for chemical proportioning applications. For rate and total display, as
well as pump pacing, the flovv indicator can be mounted directly on the DIGIPRO
Series, or remotely on a wall or panel. The DIGIPRO Series require special
fittings, since they are not depth-adjustable. Installation in the fitting
ensures correct depth placement in the pipe. Fittings are included.

About The Founder Of IEC:
Hüsamettin YALHI was born in 1909 and
was raised under the troublesome conditions prevailing at the time. After
completing his education and serving his country in millitary service, he
worked as a physics teacher in Amasya and Istanbul Fevziye High Schools
for 4 years.
As a science official he prepared the regulations on measuring and
weighing devices while working at the Department of Measuring and
Department of Measurements and Standards of the Ministry of Industry and
Commerce in 1935.
In 1945 he started his own business establishing the core of our current
firm with manifacture of water meter parts and test benches. As a result
of his efforts and in 1955 he established the IEC Water Meters Factory.
With these efforts he managed to put a stop to the importation of meters
as of 1956. He died in Istanbul on March 17, 1993.
About Company:
Our current group consists of four
companies operating in our two facilities located in the Bilecik Organized
Industrial Estate and in Istanbul over an open area of 60.000m² and a
closed area of 12.000m². It has the integrated plants designed to meet all
the requirements, such as bronze casting, die casting and processing lines,
finishing automation shops, electrostatic paint plants, cold and hot
forging lines, molding shops, and a plastic injection plant consisting of
CNC machinery, and of quality assurance and of calibration laboratories.
It is manufacturing all parts at its own facilities resting on its
specialized workforce of 500 people. Our subsidiary industry dependency is
only on raw materials.
